The Department of Counseling and School Psychology’s (CSP) Resilience Scholarship is in the honor of Drs. Michaelanthony Brown-Cheatham and Sharon Grant-Henry, two African American faculty members in our department that passed away but their legacy lives on because of their contributions and commitment to the department, students, and community through their fight for equitable education, equitable practices, and equitable policy. The scholarship will go toward the education of a CSP graduate student who demonstrates evidence of commitment to serving African American children, families, and/or community through service, research, and measures of academic focus. |

ESSAY: Please submit an essay of 500-750 words describing your commitment to serving African American children, families, and/or community through service, research, and measures of academic focus. LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION: One letter of recommendation from a faculty member, school, community partner, or other agency/person that can attest to your commitment to African American children, families and/or communities. EVIDENCE OF GOOD STANDING: Submit evidence of “good standing”. This should include transcripts, letter from Department Chair or Program Chair verifying your standing, and/or a faculty evaluation. Additional application materials may be requested. By the deadline, submit to the Department of Counseling and School Psychology, North Education Room 179. Value of scholarship awards: Range of $400-$1,000 |
