The Rancho Bizzarro Museum of Natural History wants to create training to orient
new docents. The Director of Education for the museum described her need to develop
a 45-minute training session anchored by a Power Point presentation, which would
include exercises, handouts, and a trainer's guide to orient new docents to their
roles as docents.
That's the general picture presented at the first meeting. At the second meeting, and after conversations with colleagues, friends and neighbors, she is full of ideas about the project. She says that they would also like a web site for docents to reference about the Museum in the first month or two of their efforts. As she goes on to describe the situation, she is enthusiastic about the ID consultant providing materials to train docents to give good presentations and to become conscious of strategies to use to convert visitors into donors.
