Intro

More often than not, when you create an individualized instructional lesson it is in the context of something larger—a module, an entire course, or even an enterprise learning content management system (LCMS). The latter are becoming more the rule than the exception in organizations of any size, and as an instructional designer it's a good idea to understand what an LCMS is, how it works, and how to design reusable content for use in an LCMS.
