CABE: California Association of Bilingual Education |

| CABE is a non-profit organization incorporated in 1976 to promote bilingual education and quality educational experiences for all students in California.
CABE has 5,000 members with over 60 chapters/affiliates, all working to promote equity and student achievement for students with diverse cultural, racial, and linguistic backgrounds. CABE recognizes and honors the fact that we live in a rich multicultural, global society and that respect for diversity makes us a stronger state and nation. |

CATESOL: California Association of Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages |

| CATESOL, founded in 1969, is a nonprofit organization open to anyone concerned with the teaching of English as a second or foreign language, standard English as a second dialect, or bilingual education.
CATESOL members include classroom teachers at all levels, instructors in teacher training programs, university students, aides, and administrators in California and Nevada. CATESOL works to insure that all of its members will be equally represented. Each level of instruction - elementary, secondary, adult, community college, intensive English programs (IEP) and college/university - is represented by a member on the board of directors. Local chapters serve members living outside the three areas providing annual conferences. There are seven chapters: Capital Area, Los Padres, Northern Nevada, Orange, Saroyan, Southern Nevada and Steinbeck. |

| NABE is the only professional organization at the national level wholly devoted to representing both English language learners and bilingual education professionals. Along with our affiliate organizations in 23 states, we represent a combined membership of more than 20,000 bilingual and English-as-a-second-language teachers, administrators, paraprofessionals, university professors and students, researchers, advocates, policymakers, and parents.

| The National Council of Teachers of English is devoted to improving the teaching and learning of English and the language arts at all levels of education. Since 1911, NCTE has provided a forum for the profession, an array of opportunities for teachers to continue their professional growth throughout their careers, and a framework for cooperation to deal with issues that affect the teaching of English.
NCTE has over 60,000 members and subscribers in the United States and other countries. Individual members are teachers and supervisors of English programs in elementary, middle, and secondary schools, faculty in college and university English departments, teacher educators, local and state agency English specialists, and professionals in related fields. Anyone interested in advancing English language arts education is welcome to join the NCTE membership community. |

TESOL: TEACHERS OF ENLGISH TO SPEAKERS OF OTHER LANGUAGES |

| The global professional association TESOL is headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, in the United States, has more than 13,500 members in over 140 countries and is recognized as a nongovernmental organization (NGO) of the United Nations Department of Public Information. Its mission is to ensure excellence in English language teaching to speakers of other languages.
TESOL's mission is to engage its members and colleagues in ongoing discussion of current issues, ideas, and opportunities in the field of English language teaching, TESOL publishes two serials: a scholarly, refereed journal (TESOL Quarterly) and a magazine offering articles of interest to teachers across the profession (Essential Teacher). |
