Background
I was born in Lancaster, CA and grew up in the Santa Clarita Valley. After attending the University of California, Santa Barbara and receiving a degree in Economics/Mathematics, I began my career selling audio/visual and computer equipment (a big mistake!!!).Two years later I was back in school working toward a teaching credential. Eventually, the attraction of developing and integrating technology into instruction led me to the Department of Educational Technology. About the same time, I was hired to supervise the mobile computer lab at Helix High School and promoted to the position of Media Technician where I supervised and maintained the Multimedia Production Center.
Interests, Activities, & Plans
After receiving my Master's degree in Educational Technology, I began working for San Diego State University. As the Information Technology Consultant for the College of Education, my primary responsibilities include assisting faculty and students in the College of Education Technology Complex, serving as Webmaster for the our Macintosh and Windows webservers, and researching and developing new methods to provide distance eduation. I've also been busy upgrading three of our laboratories, moving to my new office, and completing the College of Education Directory.
Other Interesting Things
I enjoy learning, using, and teaching new computer applications. My passions include basketball, pool, and mountain biking. I would eventually like to return to the Big Island of Hawaii with my wife, Maggie and the kids to fish and watch the sunset with a Pina Colada in my hand.
