The Workshop Process
- Workshop members take time to read their colleagues’ abstracts. They should jot down line notes, questions, and/or feedback.
- The writer picks a paragraph to read aloud.
- The writer listens.
- Anyone can offer a suggestion, pose a question, note a strong area. Remember, warm and cool feedback should be balanced.
- Workshop members should become familiar with the rubric. Focus comments/questions on the quality of ideas, organization, voice, word choice, fluency, and conventions.
- Facilitator acts as note taker.
