Scott’s Questions
If you find designing meaningful activities for all your students in an English-immersion classroom is a time-consuming, challenging, and difficult task, you are not alone. After a sudden change in policy at my school, I found myself teaching students with little or no language skills.

Mainstreaming ELL students has left me asking questions like:

  • How do I handle teaching math, science, history, or language arts to students who speak little or no English?
  • How do I address the needs of all of my students without compromising the curriculum?
  • How do I retain my unique teaching style and still address those students who need to improve their language skills?
My story is about how I found answers to those questions.
