Three Semester Block

The Three Semester Block program is focused on excellence in the preparation of teachers who will become highly effective professionals ready to meet the challenges and to find the joys of teaching diverse student populations in today's schools.

First Semester - 15 units

Second Semester - 15 units

Third Semester - 17 units

• The 3 SB program may be started in the fall or spring and can be completed

in three semesters.

• Required multiple subject credential classes for the first and second

semester begin at 4 pm and 7 pm two nights per week.

This provides the students with the opportunity to work during the

day and attend classes in the evening.

3 SB is a demanding program and it is suggested students only work

part-time.

• An Advanced Community Field Experience in the second semester

of the program provides students the opportunity to work in classrooms

six hours per week (72 hours total). This requirement precedes student

teaching.

Student teaching is a full-time commitment in the last semester.

Students work in a classroom 5 days a week, everyday, all day for a 12-week

period and must also complete a Teaching Event. It is highly recommended

students not work during their last semester.

• The Three Semester Block team works closely with the students to help

provide a successful experience.
