Due to the recent CSU budget cuts and enrollment management mandates, the department is managing the admissions process differently for Spring 2010.
Please note that this will not affect Fall 2010 admission.
Department Admission Deadlines
The Spring 2010 application period is open now through October 29, 2009 (our office will be closed on October 30 for furlough).
University Admissions and Deadlines
Native/Matriculated SDSU Students
Students who are currently enrolled at SDSU in Fall 2009 and have met all prerequisite requirements are eligible to apply. If you are in this category please email the department so we can work directly with and assist you in this process. After notifying the department, only then will CSU Mentor be open for you until October 30, 2009.
Non-Native/Non-Matriculated Students
If you are interested in enrolling in a credential program in Spring 2010 and are not currently attending for Fall 2009, we are planning to offer program options in collaboration with the SDSU College of Extended Studies. If you are in this category, please call the department at 619.594.6131 so we can work directly with and assist you in this process. After notifying the department, only then will CSU Mentor be open for you until December 1, 2009. When completing this application, you will need to choose external degree programs as your program option.
If you are non-native/non-matriculated and want to take pre-requisite classes (ED 451, HHS280/TE 296, Math 210, SPED 450) this Spring 2010, you will need to take these courses through Open University. To find out more about how to take classes through Open University, please visit their web site. l
We will be offering several sections of these courses at SDSU in Summer 2010 as regular courses. If you will be applying for the Fall 2010 credential program, then you may be interested in taking these classes this Summer. They are usually offered in the first Summer session that starts at the end of May. To take these classes you would want to apply to SDSU for the Fall 2010 term and request in the Statement of Purpose that you would like to take pre-reqs this summer. Provided that your GPA is above 2.67, we can then conditionally admit you to SDSU early for Fall 2010 (in the summer) to take these courses.
University: After you contact the department about applying for either prerequisites or a credential program, please view this short tutorial on how to apply online to the university using the CSU Mentor web site. You can apply here via CSU Mentor (opens new window). See Step 5 for further information.
