Background
Being a farmer's daughter AND growing up in the San Joaquin Valley, I have definately eaten my share of fruit. I have lived in San Diego for five years now and I do miss my family, but I do not miss the heat!
Interests, Activities & Plans
Teaching is what I have always dreamed of doing as a child and now my dreams are starting to unfold before my eyes. I was a substitute before I became a student teacher through S.D.S.U. I currently teach a seventh grade humanities block at O'Farrell Community School. It has been the most outstanding experience I have ever had. It was just a reinforcement of my childhood dream. I plan to continue in the honorable teaching profession and eventually earn my masters. An activity that I have enjoyed this year is being a volunteer representative for the Student Advisory Council at S.D.S.U.
Other Interesting Things
An interesting program I that am working on is "PARTNERS." I know that students need to be loved and guided, that is why myself and two other student teachers founded this mentor program, which focuses on at-risk students.
