Student Teacher at O'Farrell Community School

Background

I was born in San Jose, California on September 28, 1970. When I was nineteen, I married a radioman in the Navy. At that time, he was stationed in Groton, Connecticut, so I moved there. We spent a couple of years in Groton, and then we moved to Bremerton, Washington. Unfortunately, we only stayed in Washington for eight months, and then we were on our way back to Connecticut. We spent two more years in Groton before we moved to San Diego, California.

Interests, Activities, & Plans

I spend as much time as possible with my husband and our three kids. We both try to be involved in some way in every aspect of their lives. We both enjoy volunteering in our kids classes. I enjoy playing all sports, and so do my two oldest kids. I am an assistant soccer coach for their team. . As a family, we go to as many Padres games as possible. In my spare time, I like to go bike riding and hiking.

I am currently in the O'Farrell-Morse Teaching, Technology, and Restructuring Partnership- T2ARP. Once I am finished with the credential program, I would like to teach Language Arts/Social Studies blocks. I am in the process of getting a math supplemental credential, as well. I would love to work at a middle school that has competitive sports. If the school needed a soccer coach, I would be the first to offer my time.

My husband will be getting out of the Navy in about eleven months. He hopes to find a job in San Diego, because we have really felt at home for the past couple years. I will search for job openings in different California school districts, because I don't know where my husband will be working. Once we both find jobs in our prospective fields, we hope to buy a house. Until then we will suffer in small apartments!

Other Interesting Things

I enjoy listening to all types of music. Although Country music and Pop music are my favorites. I probably watch too much T.V. I love to watch cop shows. Some of my favorites are Cagney and Lacey, Matlock, and Columbo.Of course, I have NO idiosyncracies!
