French/Spanish teacher, grades 9-12, Morse High School

Background

Born in Mexico City, Mexico, my family moved to Tijuana, Baja California, when i was seven. My siblings and i commuted to San Diego to school from elementary school through high school. When asked where i live or where i'm from i cite both border cities as my home. Switching languages on a daily basis ignited my love for languages which led me to study French and Italian at college. i lived in Florence, Italy and Paris, France during my first year of college. After working in a human rights program at El Colegio de la Frontera Norte in which one of our main focuses was teaching spanish to mixtec speaking women i became commited to education

Interests, Activities, & Plans

My favorite, but expensive activity is travelling, hence my love of foreign languages. Combined with this, is my love for reading. So, i have decided to do what i like for a living and teach. Hopefully i will attain a PhD in comparative literature one day and perhaps teach at the college level.

Other Interesting Things

Presently i am what you could call a Rent-Head, i am enthralled by the musical Rent and this, in truth, scares me, but it is a fun diversion! i am an avid theatre and movie goer, but most of all i think i like to talk!!

By the way, my eyes are not green, they just came out that way, i look nothing like a stick figure, and i obviously can't draw!!!
