Investigating Utopian Societies
Throughout time groups have been trying to develop the ideal society. Is it possible? If so, what components need to be considered. Your groups task is to investigate what would be needed to create a society worthy of being called "Utopian." To begin our search we will first look at links on the Internet of other Utopian societies. As you go through the links answer the following questions in your journal:
At this time write a paragraph discussing what your group considers necessary factors of a Utopian Society? This paragraph will be used as research and notes which you will want to discuss in your final essay.
Choosing A Leader
The following are examples of people who represent leadership abilities. Your group will create a biography for the chosen leader of your society. After looking at each leaders' biography, respond to the following questions in your journal:

Creating A Coat Of Arms
A Coat of Arms is necessary for your groups new society. Your coat should include the symbol, motto, family name, colors representative of your society. Create the Coat of Arms which will represent your society. The final draft will be turned in with your final essay. Look at the following sites for ideas on how to create your coat of arms and answer the following questions in your journal:

Final Summation
The group will now gather their findings and incorporate them into a three to five paragraph essay. The essay must address the three elements listed above: Utopian Societies, Leaders, and Symbols (Coat of Arms). In the essay discuss what your group has decided upon, and reflect back upon this learning experience.
