Module 4: Building An Online Community
![]()
You probably are already competent with basic email usage, and possibly with more advanced uses. In this module, we will guide you through a series of procedures to help you with a variety of tasks. Additionally, hints will be provided to help streamline your work within each of these tasks. Click on the task with which you would like assistance. They are ordered from the easiest, and most frequently used to the more difficult, and more seldom used.
The job aids are based on Eudora. You may download a light version for this software if you don't currently use the program.
- Attach documents and files to send to colleagues, or to receive homework files from your students.
- Create, then transfer email to mailboxes which help you categorize your mail for easy retrieval in the future.
- Create a distribution list of your students in an address book so that one message may be sent to an entire class.
- Filter your messages according to preset criteria to automatically place in mailboxes, create a sound, or label the message.
- Create a virtual listserv for students to post messages to all classmates. (Note: You will need Eudora Pro, not Eudora Light, to complete this activity.)
