Admissions - New Information:

The program will offer one class this summer, for which students do not need to formally apply to the program.  Students may take up to three classes before formally applying to the program.

This summer the following class will be offered:

CSP 610F: Determinants of human behaviour: Traumatic stress and resilience.

Schedule:

July 31st through August 18th, 2006

Mon through Friday from 5 pm to 8 pm.

SDSU students may enroll in to the class using the regular registration process and will pay the In State tuition fee.

Non SDSU students will need to register through the College of Extended Studies.

If you are interested in applying for one of the two scholarhips, please read the following information, as you will be required to fill out an application.

Applying to the Certificate in Cultural and Community Trauma requires that candidates fill out and send an application for the program. Please use the application that can be downloaded here. It should include:

  • Personal information
  • Education and professional information
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • A curriculum vitae or resume
  • An essay

Requirements

  • Students seeking to complete the certificate program must take 12 unitsand the field work course in between summers. After students have completed the requirements for each institute and the field work course, a certificate of completion will be issued by the Department of School and Counseling Psychology.
  • Students completing one or more courses will receive a certificate of completion for each course by the Department of School and Counseling Psychology.
  • Students will come into the program/courses with the understanding that they will be have experiential and conceptual exposure to a variety of cultural
    perspectives.

Registration

After your applications are reviewed, accepted applicants will be contacted by mail and/or e-mail with an approval letter. The program director will send applicants directions on how to register via e-mail.
