Overview: 10 points

Overall, clearly identifies the question(s) or issues(s) studied/investigated and the importance of the research perspective.

In addition, also includes: a) a general description of the object of the case study; and b) a concise, individually-conducted review of the literature; c) a description of data collection strategies

Research Purpose: 10 points

The narrative details the group’s specific charge and seamlessly weaves what was investigated with the technique employed. There is no confusion between strategy employed (content analysis, survey, interview) with the investigative intent that the strategy enables or promotes. The research purpose well aligns with the research method.


Impact of the Literature Review: 20 points

The review clears explains the lit review you wrote influenced your data gathering effort—from issues to investigate to data interpretation


Contextual Factors: 10 points

Note any contextual factors—generally constraints such as access to people or materials, time factors, or political issues—that influenced the design of your brief study, how your instrument was deployed/implemented/administered, or your analysis/interpretation of the results.


Methodology: 25 points

Describes your tool/protocol in some detail, including general format/organization, the structure of specific items or sections, how it was administered or used, and any pilot testing you conducted.


Analysis/Findings: 35 points

Present a coherent explanation of the data collected; analysis is organized thematically or topically. This section details two distinct processes: analysis and interpretation. The interpretation needs to articulate what you think the results mean. Also, point to more issues to explore or specific issues where extended study is warranted (certainly the case with the content analysis)

Tables, charts, and graphs are used properly to clarify the data -- or any complex points you're trying to make. Engage the reader with descriptive language; allow him or her to "see" the importance/value of what you've done.


Flow

Specifically: the logicality of the paper’s organization (how easy or difficult it is to follow), use of headings and subheads, and transitions between and among themes/topics/ideas.
