March 2
Week 6: Making and Testing Hypotheses

You've recruited over a hundred friends and family members to respond to our survey from last week. We'll begin by looking at the overall survey results.

What can you say about the respondents in general, not taking into account their age or anything else?

Next, recognizing that this is not a random, stratified sample and thus not really generalizable beyond this group, we'll see which of the Prensky/Tapscott assertions seem to hold up to scrutiny.

Divide yourselves into workgroups of two-three members. We'll use a worksheet to begin to formulate and test hypotheses from the set of data we have. The goal is to come up with a set of statements that are consistent with the information we have. You can get the responses by individual in Excel format or in HTML format.

You are to finish this assignment (follow the link for all details on this project) with your group and turn it in by Sunday, March 13 for grading. Grading will be based on this rubric which we will develop collaboratively in class.
