Rules of the Information Road

  • Quote previous letter when you respond
  • Look before you post on a forum or newsgroup
  • Don’t pass on chain letters or virus warnings, , jokes
    • If there's a hook, a threat, and a request then it's probably a chain letter (E-mail postage)
    • If it's too good to be true, it's probably a chain letter (Disney Hoax)
  • Don't pass on virus warnings - 99% of them are bogus (Virus hoax)
  • Be selective of what you do foward (jokes, sentimental stories, Cancer story)
