Before products are developed or projects are created, it is extremely important to get a firm handle on the problem or opportunity that we are facing. In this assignment, you will be analyzing the initial characteristics of an opportunity or problem you have chosen to address for your semester theme. The purpose is to document the needs that exist, contact and obtain ideas and facts from the people who will be affected by the decisions that are made, and recommend a series of possible interventions to your supervisor (in this case, your instructor). Your report should be no more than 750 words in length. Write clearly and succinctly. Your report should contain the following four sections.
In the introduction, discuss the situation that you have selected for your semester theme. Determine whether this is a performance problem or an opportunity for improvement. Clearly explain the situation, the players involved, and the focus of your needs assessment efforts.
In this section, identify two or three stake holders and sources that you used to solicit information pertaining to the situation. Try to include a variety of relevant individuals and extant data to ensure a thorough effort. For each source, list the analysis tools and techniques used, and provide information identifying how the sources contributed to either ideals, currents, or barriers.
Analyze your data and describe your findings paying special attention to the four kinds of barriers and linked solutions (skills and knowledge, motivation, environment, organizational support.)
Based on your findings, recommend solutions that reflect the depth of the situation. Be sure to make a strong correlation between your recommendations, the situation, and the information gathered.

On-line students: Please attach the word processed document of your performance needs assessment assignment with your code on it (please don't put your name on it) and email it to the instructor.
The Performance Needs Assessment Rubric will be used to evaluate your product.
