On completion of EDTEC 561 you will be able to:
- Conceive and design an educational video, including documenting the design using appropriate tools such as outline, treatment, script, and story board. [Communication; Processes; Interpersonal]
- Use at least the basic features of a new (to you) multimedia development tool. [Technical]
- Consider various methods (in a class, on your own, with a coach, etc.) and products (user guides, print or online tutorials, online help, videotapes, etc.) for learning new software applications. [Technical]
- Reflect on the methods and products you find to be most effective for you, personally, for learning new software applications. [Character; Professional & Career]
- Survey current research on educational multimedia and instructional message design. [Principles, Theories & Models]
- Evaluate current research on a specific topic and relate it to your own interests and professional needs. [Professional & Career]
- Write references using APA publication guidelines. [Professional & Career]
- Conceive and plan a short educational video program based on given content and target audience, to satisfy a client/subject matter expert. [Processes]
- Prepare a content outline specifying the main themes and points of view for inclusion in an educational video. [Cognitive]
- Cultivate practices that foster your own creativity and satisfaction with your work. [Character]
- Draft a narrative treatment to help your client "envision" and approve the planned educational video. [Communication]
- Write a script for the planned educational video, using an appropiate script format. [Communication]
- Draw a storyboard for the planned educational video, incorporating appropriate picture composition, sequencing, camera and actor moves and transitions. [Communication]
- Develop a production plan for the development of an educational video. [Communication; Systems]s
- Shoot an educational video implementing the script and storyboard, with acceptable sound and picture quality. [Technical; Communication; Interpersonal]
- Edit an educational video to comply with appropriate style guides and other specifications.
