Photographs may be created or obtained in a number of ways. However you decide to work, be sure you have the rights to use each photograph. Clip art libraries typically feature liberal use, but read the license agreement carefully before you buy. A photographer who works for you or your organization is creating "work-for-hire" and, while the photographer is always the photographer, the photograph is actually owned by whoever pays for it. Assume that everything you see in print and on the Web is copyrighted. Public domain and other free archives exist, but be certain you clearly understand - and document - the status of each and every photograph you include in your project.
