7 to 8.5 points

Readers are aware of the overall goal, who is involved, and on what the budget will focus.

9 to 10 points

The first sections clearly identifies the school, the goal, and provides an overview of the budget.

Hardware

1 to 6 points

Neither implicit nor explicit reference is made to the hardware needed.

7 to 8.5 points

Much of the hardware required to obtain the school's technology goal has been identified.

9 to 10 points

The hardware section clearly identifies the items required to reach the technology goal, and relevant prices are listed.

Software

1 to 6 points

No software has been identify for the school technology plan.

7 to 8.5 points

Software and prices have been identified, however either the prices appear to be erroneous or crucial software is missing.

9 to 10 points

The software required for the adequate attainment of the technology plan is identified. Relevant prices are included.

Training

1 to 12 points

Little or no information pertaining to the amount of training for the faculty is provided.

13 to 17 points

Information on the training of faculty and staff has been included. The thoroughness of the training is questioned.

18 to 20

Information provided identifies how the training of faculty and staff will be done. The vast majority of the relevant information has been included.

Tabulations

1 to 6 points

The tabulation of the costs for the budget are not included, are incomplete, or have been miscalculated.

7 to 8.5 points

Budgetary items have been identified and tabulated. Some errors are present.

9 to 10 points

All budgetary items have been identified and correctly tabulated. Subcategories are shown. Tax has been included. A five year plan has been generated.

Justifications

1 to 12 points

The budget is not adequately justified. A lack of relevance between the budget and items exists.

13 to 17 points

The budget is adequately justified, although some lack of relevancy exists.

18 to 20

The budget justification is strong and relevant. Recommendations reflect the needs expressed in the vision statement.

Clarity of writing

1 to 6 points

It is hard to know what the writer is trying to express. Writing is convoluted. Misspelled words, incorrect grammar, and improper punctuation were evident.

7 to 8.5 points

Writing is clear, but unnecessary words are used. Meaning is sometimes hidden. A few words are either misused or misspelled. A few grammar and punctuation errors have been found.

9 to 10 points

Writing is crisp, clear, and succinct. The writer incorporates the active voice when appropriate. No misspelling, grammar, or punctuation mistakes are evident.

Timeliness

1 to 5 points

Material was submitted more than one class late.

6 to 9.5 points

Material was submitted up to one class late.

10 points

Material is submitted on time.
