Special Topics Research Report The purpose of the special topics research report is to allow you to delve into a relevant topic facing school administrators and technology leaders. The topic you choose should be one:
- in which you have an interest;
- that you can access and synthesize existing information;
- that is currently facing other professionals; and
- that other professionals could gain from your knowledge.
The information you use for your report can be either web-based or text-based. All information should be properly cited. Because the final report will be posted to the web, it will be appropriate to link web resources from your material.
The components of the report include the following:
- An introduction to prepare the reader;
- The body, in which the ideas flow smoothly from one to another; and
- A conclusion that summarizes the information
Each of these components will be used to judge your report, as well as the clarity of the text, the appropriateness of the resources you based your information upon, and the timeliness of your material. For additional information on the grading of the report, access the online rubric.
