Now that you have considered unanticipated barriers (which is a never-ending task), think about how to establish solutions to issues of cost for a school, specifically time and money. Add another section to your class notes entitled "Establishing Solutions" and note any factors that could help your TUP from the following activities.
As we all know, schools never seem to have adequate amounts of either time or money. One obvious solution is to mobilize support from the community. In the past few weeks, you have visited schools and interviewed tech coordinators about obtaining resources for tech plans.
In class field trips and discussions with tech coordinators and community partners, you were asked to take notes on the following questions:
- What resources can the community provide schools?
- Note links to schools that have model partnership programs.
Review these experiences to find out how community support could be a major factor in providing solutions to school cost issues in your TUP.
In a previous session you visited the NetDay web site and saw the thousands of schools that are using community support to upgrade their level of technology. Look over your notes and perhaps revisit that site to see if you gained any insight on community involvement that may be useful in writing your TUP.
