The objectives of this session are to:
Consider future hardware, software and network technologies that are appropriate to the future of your Technology Use Plan (TUP) or special project, and visit web sites which explain these technologies.
Compare the advantages and disadvantages which may arise from these evolving/emerging technologies.
Stay realistic with your goals.
Consider the use of emerging/evolving technologies with respect to administrative productivity.
As we approach the start of the twenty-first century, society stands at the threshold of the Information Age. As we draw closer to the next millennium, the technological landscape is consistently changing. Technologies evolving now and technologies emerging on the horizon, will impact the future of education.
As we move further into the Information Age, what technologies will we be embracing? How will the technology we use today evolve? What role will the Internet play in the future? These questions and the links to help you answer them will be considered in the Connect Section.
Because the potential of technology in the future is limitless, it is vital to the present that we stay realistic. Technology is only beneficial if it can promote efficiency. Questions on this topic will be considered in the Apply Section.
The Reflect Section allows you to consider the ways that new technologies can increase the productivity and efficiency of tomorrow's schools.
In the Extend Section, you may choose to investigate the near future of some specific types of administrative productivity technologies.
