Module 4: The Foundation for a Technology Use Plan.
In previous sessions we've obtained an overview of technology in education, explored the role a technology leader plays, and seen how technology is helping change established paradigms faster then Madonna changes hair styles. In this session we'll move in a practical direction, laying the foundation of a technology use plan.
Any technology use plan has at its heart a well crafted vision statement. A vision statement is a document that clearly outlines the eventual goal(s) of the plan. It is a statement of purpose that embraces the needs and desires of everyone involved, while balancing them with the realities of time, money, and other resources.
This section will explore how to construct just such a vision statement and then show you some ways to begin preparing to make the vision become a reality.
A nice metaphor for this section could be a "vision quest."
