The high cost of computers and other technologies makes locating and obtaining outside funding an important aspect of the technology coordinator's job. Developing successful grant proposals is both an art and a science, and could in itself be the topic of an entire course.
Our purpose in this module is to provide information to help you begin locating funding sources for technology grants, outline the basic procedures for grant application, and provide some suggestions on how to successfully apply for government and private grants. In addition, we will take a look at the cost-effectiveness of using grant money to purchase classroom computers versus leasing.
