Education

Background

I'm a native Californian, but I sang "God Save the Queen" and "O Canada" long before I learned "I pledge allegiance ..." At the age ten, I moved from Alberta to North Dakota where I graduated from Minot HS. I attended La Verne College in southern California where I received my BA and secondary teaching credential, and began teaching high school in Azusa. Summer travel in Euorpe opened the doors to a new world for my husband and me. In 1978 we moved to Frankfurt, Germany where I taught at Frankfurt American High School and my husband taught at the elementary school. For ten years we enjoyed living in Germany and travelling throughout Europe in our camping van.

In 1988 we moved to San Diego. I have changed careers from teacher to curriculum writer/instructional designer. I began writing curriculum for Jostens, then Futurekids, then Glencoe, and GlobalSchoolNet, Classroom Connect, McGraw-Hill Home Interactive...I enjoy writing curriculum that incorporates the computer and Internet technology. Currently, I work for Aptex, a software development company.

Interests Activities

My hobbies include sewing, quilting, baking breads, finding new web sites, and enjoying my family - which includes two wonderful teenagers.
