Queen Hatshepsut proclaimed herself as the ruler of Egypt. She wore a dress that was worn by Pharaohs. She also wore what was called a kilt. This was a skirt that went down to the knees. It is worn by Scottish men today. The kilt was pleated with geometric decoration, such as angels, squares, and circles. The other thing that Queen Hattie wore was the "Ceremonal Beard," the ceremonal beard was worn by kings. It was a symbol of masculine power. The beard was a fake beard that was in the shape of a metal rod. The crown that Queen Hatshepsut wore was called the double crown; it was created when the upper and the lower kings of Egypt decided to join the two lands to become one union. The two crowns became one crown just like the lands. All the things that Queen Hatshepsut wore were for formal ceremonies.
