Week 3: Board Game Design III: Team Work Session

Tonight in your teams, you'll work your way through the First Steps in Board Game Design process. You won't finish it all this evening, unless you've walked in the door having completed Step 1 of the process already. It's critical that every member of the team have familiarity with the content your game will teach. It would be a good use of your time to focus on Part 1 this evening by doing web searches on the content (you might find Four NETS for Better Searching to be helpful) and walking over to the library where, I understand, there are actual paper pages available on most topics :-)

Our collection of commercial and student-made board games is in the back of the classroom to assist your Muse, as are materials for you to prototype your game if you get that far. It might also help if you electronically thumbed through Cardboard Cognition, the collection of games created in this course over the last decade, or the database of board game information at Gamers.com.

We'll finish the process by next week.
