Converting to MP3 |
|||
Do I need this tutorial?If you have an audio-only podcast, you'll need to follow these steps to change your file from an .m4a to an .mp3. If you have an enhanced podcast, feel free to skip this tutorial completely. If you'd like to geek it up a level, you can watch the enhanced podcast version of the tutorial. 1. Launch iTunes. It's going to convert our file to MP3 for us. 2. Eventually we'll select our song, then click Convert Selection to MP3. HOWEVER, iTunes is not set to MP3 by default. This tutorial shows you how to change your settings before you convert the file.
3. Go to the preferences window.
4. Go to the advanced tab, then click on "Importing." Pick MP3 Encoder from the "Import Using" dropdown. 5. I recommend 128 kpbs. It has good quality with a relatively small file size. Click OK when you're finished.
6. Select your file in the iTunes library, then go to the advanced menu and click "Convert Selection to MP3."
7. You'll have 2 versions of your show in your iTunes library. Select the new one, then click "Show Song File." This will help you find it on the hard drive.
Now it's time to upload your file. |
