This one unit course will provide a basic understanding of principles of dynamic instructional design for the organization of instruction with learning objects utilizing the component-based development technology of XML and XSL. With the component and classification approach to structure and function, learning objects can provide useful, individualized, and up-to-date instruction for users in a variety of formats. Another benefit is the reduced cost and time for designers in constructing and maintaining these personalized environments, both in education and training settings.

CMS, ECM, LMS, LCMS, EPSS, HRMS, HCM, KM, RLO, XML, LMNOP· the field of educational technology is littered with acronyms!  It's growing increasingly difficult to tell what the technologies are and when you might need it.  In this course, we will survey technologies and systems currently used to develop, deliver and manage learning and performance interventions.  We will also discuss how your organization can effectively select and combine these technologies to address your learning and performance problems colleagues take.
