Co-presenter, Reconcilable differences: Helping couples in times of trouble at Singapore Bible College, Singapore. A one day workshop (8 hours) provided to marriage and family counselors from Singapore, Malaysia, and India, July 2008.

Presenter, Workshop on Marriage and Family Counseling. One-week intensive training provided to graduate students at the Novelink Fellows Graduate Program, Xiamen, China, July 2008.

Advisory Board Member, Southeast Asia Children Projects (SACP), 2005 - present

SACP was founded to address child trafficking and child sexual exploitation in Southeast Asia. SACP offers training in the treatment of rescued or at-risk youth and their families, conducts research on human trafficking, and assists in prevention and documentation efforts by child and family welfare groups in Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam.

AAMFT Approved Supervisor, SDSU-Price Charities School-based Family Therapy Program, San Diego State University, San Diego, CA, Sept. 2005 – May 2006.

Provide supervision to SDSU MFT trainees in the Sol-Price project serving children and families for school success at Adams Elementary School, San Diego, CA.

Advisory Board Member, College of Education International Programs Center, San Diego State University, San Diego, CA, 2006.

Provide consultation in sustaining and expanding international collaborations and programs in the College of Education, San Diego State University.

Presenter, Parenting workshops (Systematic Training for Effective Parenting) and Workshops in the area of counseling skills and interpersonal relationships in different locations in the U.S. and in Asia, 1989 – present.

Emphasis on intergenerational and cross-cultural competencies in parenting and interpersonal relationships. Locations covered include Lubbock, Houston, Arlington, San Francisco, Pasadena, San Diego, Singapore, Brunei, and different cities in Malaysia (Batu Pahat, Kluang, Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Kuala Lumpur)

ESL Teacher’s Assistant with refugee women, First Things First, San Diego, International Rescue Committee. San Diego, California, Volunteer, September 2002 – May 2003.

Provide small group English language instruction and individual tutoring to refugee women from Ethiopia, Sudan, Somalia, and the Middle-East.

School-based Family Therapist, USF School-based Family Counseling Program, Center for Child and Family Development, University of San Francisco, San Francisco, CA, Sept. 2001 – Jan. 2002.

Provided school-based family counseling (K-8) in the Visitacion Valley in collaboration with teachers, school personnel, parents, and community agencies. Population served is diverse with a large population of newly arrived immigrants.

School-based Family Therapist and In-Home Therapist, Community Youth Development and Parent Empowerment Projects, Texas Tech University, Lubbock, TX, 1998 – 2000.

Worked with teachers and parents in assisting delinquent youth in personal and relational difficulties. Provided in-home therapy to indigent families.

Educator in Parenting Education, Parenting Education Project, Community Youth Development Project, Lubbock, TX, 1998 – 1999.

Trained and coached a multi-ethnic team of community leaders in parenting education. Community Parent Educators trained included professionals, administrators, educators, religious leaders and parents in this largely Latino and African-American community.
