CSP 610D: Determinants of Human Behavior: Learning
CSP 610D combines theoretical and practical study of the issues of human learning and thinking. Students explore advanced theories and sociocultural contexts of learning, and apply the paradigms of dynamic assessment, cognitive modifiability, and mediated learning to assessment-based interventions for learning. Strong theoretical focus is placed on Jensen’s Cognitive and Knowledge Structure Development, and its precursor Feuerstein’s Theory of Cognitive Modifiability. Students are expected to master a working knowledge of cognitive functions and mediating interactions, perform evaluations, write reports of those evaluations, and to design culturally, developmentally and instructionally appropriate interventions.

Using the Vision and Outcomes statements of the program as a springboard, students begin to integrate their three to four years of practical and academic experience and their internship goals development into conceptual areas. This conceptual integration, and the collegial interactions surrounding it will culminate in statements of professional identity and professional service delivery models.
CSP 760 : supports the written articulation of competencies and the demonstration of outcomes which interns have achieved over the course of their program. Students are encouraged to integrate their personal experiences, cultural contexts, and professional identities in this conceptualization, and to support their own statements with documentation. The seminar focuses on the writing and documentation processe
