My broad areas of interest are marriage and ethnicity, men's issues, and juvenile delinquency. My current research focuses on father-child relationships across the life-course. I examine not only the effects of fathering on children, but on fathers themselves. My clinical work is focused on therapeutic interventions with Latino families, children who are victims of crime, and families with disabled children. I also conduct psycho-educational support groups for Latino men who want to learn more fathering skills. The classes I currently teach are The Family Life Cycle, Child and Adolescent Development, Counseling Communication Skills, and Practicum. I also serve on the Research Committee for the department.
