Article: Forgotten Fathers: Latino Men in the Inner City. Based on clinical work with Latino fathers with young children in the inner city of Los Angeles. The struggles and stresses these men face along with intervention strategies for practitioners are discussed.
Article: Parental Involvement: Longitudinal Effects on Self-Esteem, with R. Giarrusso, H. Wang, and M. Silverstein. Utilizing the Longitudinal Study of Generations, long term effects of parental involvement on parental self-esteem are examined over a 20 year period, gender differences between mothers and fathers are discussed.
Article: A Portrait of Fatherhood: Quantitative Analyseson Paternal Involvement. This study, based on NSFH data, examines the relationship between father involvement and
father’s psychological well-being. Findings suggest that paternal involvement is significantly related to higher self-esteem but not lower levels of depression.
