In fact students majoring in School Psychology and Marriage and Family Therapy can also qualify with a PPS School Counseling credential. Students completing the CBB program will have approximately two years of further study to complete the School Counseling program. Students majoring in School Psychology must complete the following courses to complete a PPS credential in school counseling.

CSP 620 Guidance Services in Public Education (3 units)
CSP 730 Fieldwork in Counseling: School Counseling (150 hours) (3 units)
CSP 670 Theory and Process of Group Counseling (3 units)
CSP 645 Career development (1 unit)
CSP 710A Advanced Seminar in Counseling (3 units)
CSP 601 Foundations in Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy

Note: practicum hours can be completed for school counseling in combination with practicum hours required for School Psychology. However, students must make a clear delineation in their placement setting as to when they are working as a school counseling trainee.
