Plate Tectonics
In this activity, students were required to study about the different kinds of plate boundaries found in the earth's crust. They were then assigned the task of building a model to demonstrate the motions of tectonic plates at these boundaries. Using iPhoto, students took time-lapsed photos of their models and made animations to show what they had learned. Once the plate tectonics animations were completed, students studied erosion at the local beach by completing a problem solving scenario to explore the most cost-effective ways to maintain beach sand in their community.
