Excellence in Urban Education Awards

Each year, NCUST identifies, recognizes, and awards high-achieving urban schools (along with their districts and other reform partners).

  • Please review the revised eligibility criteria for 2008.
  • The new application for the 2008 award is now available for download. Please save the application to your hard drive and fill in. Please send the completed application as an e-mail attachment to ncust  @  mail.sdsu.edu. Also print out the application and obtain original signatures on the certification page. Then send the hard copy to NCUST, 4283 El Cajon Blvd., Suite 100, San Diego, CA 92105.

2007 Award Results

The Excellence in Urban Education Award competition for 2007 identified 18 Finalists and selected 7 Winners from among the finalists. Read the press release!

The NCUST Excellence in Urban Education Award Winners received a check for $1,000 and a banner bearing their name at the 2007 NCUST Symposium May 4-5, in San Diego at the Doubletree Hotel in Mission Valley. All finalists and winners were celebrated at the symposium and featured as presenters. All finalists received a certificate, and each winning school will be profiled on the NCUST web site. As well, each school received travel costs for one representative to attend the annual NCUST Symposium.
