New Joint Doctoral Program in Education
This Fall 2000 a cohort of approximately 20 students will begin the joint doctoral program between San Diego State University and the University of San Diego. This collaborative program offers specialized study with a concentration in Educational Technology. These students comprise the first cohort in the joint program.
The program is anchored by a common core of courses and by the study of current models of research and evaluation. Required core courses examine critical topics ranging from leadership strategies to diversity and equity to advanced research methods. Developed specifically for working professionals as well as full-time students, the Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) can be completed in three to four years depending on prior coursework and the intensity with which the degree is pursued.
