From Our Department Chair Greetings, and welcome to our second, "EDTEC Gazette." We hope to continue this newsletter as a semester publication, with at least one issue being mailed to our alumni each year in print form. In this inaugural year, we've been very fortunate to have Elaine Winfrey as our editor and page layout specialist. Elaine graduated this past December, and we hope to find an editor as accomplished for future editions of the newsletter. In this issue of the Gazette you will meet our two new faculty members, Vanessa Dennen and Minjuan Wang. I'm sure you will enjoy reading about their interests and experiences, and get a feel for how this new generation of faculty will influence our department. We also introduce you to one of our doctoral students, Arlene de Strulle, update you on Dr. Dodge's recent accomplishments, and provide overviews of other activities happening in the department. We established the Gazette as a forum to provide information to our alumni and students to the activities in our department and university. In the two issues we published this year, it has been difficult deciding what to include and what to postpone for future issues. If you have ideas as to how we can make this newsletter more interesting to you, please let me know. By the way, if you are engaged with a project or experience that would be of interest to our alumni and current students, please get in touch. We'd like to feature you.
