Thomas Jefferson lived in the 1700's in Virginia. He liked to ride his horse and Indians visited his family when he was young. When Thomas was 14 his dad died.

He became a lawyer, but was known for inventing things and he was known to be a good writer too.

He was asked to write the Declaration of Independence (WOW).

On July 4, 1776 the first Fourth of July party was held!!

During the War of Independence he gave food to the people.

He was later elected as the third president of the United States.

He made the Louisiana Purchase, helped keep America out of England and France's war and kept new slaves from being brought into America.

He died in 1826, exactly 5O years after the Declaration of Independence was signed.
