Commencing in January 2004, Allison Rossett will offer an online course for interested people no matter where they live.
What is SDSU EDTEC 685? The class has a clunky academic nameÑSeminar in Informational and Instructional Technologies for Organizations. It is also known as Performance TechnologyÑa class devoted to helping learning professionals approach problems and opportunities in more comprehensive ways.
What is the class about? We revisit the basics, such as performance analysis, job aids, and systems thinking.
In addition, we go beyond to non-training interventions, human factors, performance support, knowledge management, change management, new roles and opportunities in a performance-oriented world, and technology for performance improvement.
What will participants do? Pained by training that doesnÕt make much difference? Want to do more than fulfill compliance requirements? Do you see possibilities for supervisors to boost learning and performance? Want to use technology as more than a library of classes? Pressed to prepare people for success around the globe? WeÕll study theory, interview experts, and apply what we learn to real and vivid problems.
What are the outcomes? In addition to learning about performance and connecting with others who reside elsewhere, upon successful completion you will receive 3 graduate units. The class is one component in an online certificate and MasterÕs program at SDSU. Intrigued?
