
Martina Navratilova (1956- ) is a Czech-born U.S. tennis player. Although her professional tennis career has come close to an end, she is arguably the best women's tennis player ever. As a result of her openness about her lesbianism, she was forced to resign as head of the Women's Tennis Association. She continues to be a strong advocate for gay rights.
