of a new, $47M Elephant
Odyssey exhibit. Study examines visitor-related outcomes – including
retention of animal and conservation themes, using a repeated measures
approach.
Corporation
for Public Broadcasting
Created
a technology-based professional development program to educate public
broadcast, museum and library personnel nationwide. Designed and implemented a series of training programs using
videoconference and webcast technology.
Supported synchronous sessions with online tools, resources and
instruction.

I2J Evaluation
Project
I2J: From Investigation to Justice introduces two standards-based curricula
into classrooms in Dayton, OH and Tallahassee, FL. Both are part of Court TV's
Choices and Consequences series; "Forensics in the Classroom"
incorporates aspects of forensics to engage students in current forensic
research to help them form and test hypotheses, evaluate statistics and
synthesize evidence, and "Homicide: Life on the Street: Lessons in
Law," introduces students to the American justice system and how it
applies to young people.
Ford
Motor Company
Conducted
a Level III evaluation with diesel engine technicians (mechanics) to
investigate transfer of trained skills to on-the-job performance, and identify
factors that limit performance in the workplace. We will present results of this effort at the 2003
International Society for Performance Improvement Conference.
Ruben
H. Fleet Space Theater and Science Center
Consulting
with the organization to design an evaluation that will investigate learning
outcomes facilitated by three virtual reality exhibits. Also evaluated the MetLife Foundation-funded
Aging for All
Ages exhibit.
San
Diego County Office of Education
Conducting
an evaluation of two online teacher professional development programs (Teaching
Reading in Every Classroom – TREC and Reading in Secondary Education
– RISE) to measure outcomes, identify best practices, and improve the
training and support provided. For

Technology
in Literacy Education (TILE) PT3 Grant
Evaluator
for U.S. Department of Education, Preparing Tomorrow’s Teachers to Use
Technology (PT3)
$1.5 million grant between San Diego State University and the San Diego County
Department of Education. Program integrates
video- and web-based literacy curriculum into reading methods classes targeted
to pre-service teachers with the goal building capacity for in-service use of
technology to support literacy development. For more information
