Real- World Example of PT
Jeanne Strayer, who is with Century 21 International, knows that it is tough to be in real estate sales. Century 21 knows that lots of their sales staff continue to leave, even after receiving extensive company training. So, the organization wanted Ms. Strayer and I to provide them with a better system to help these sales people want to stay, and improve the return on investment made by Century 21.
What we did was to create interventions that were systemic and systematic. For example, we recommended job aids for new sales people that included audio tapes they could play in their car on the way to meet with a client. The tapes reviewed customer handling techniques and helped to make the sales person feel more comfortable and better prepared for the meeting.
In addition, a whole new kind of employee was introduced into the organization - the coach - an incentive system to encourage coordinating activities.
