Marva Cappello, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Teacher Education in the College of Education at San Diego State University where she teaches courses in literacy including methods and assessment classes. Her research focus is on the processes and products of elementary school writing. Recent national conference presentations and publications have focused on writing and a unique qualitative methodology, photography. Dr. Cappello is currently the director of the San Diego State University/Chula Vista Elementary School District Partnership for Teacher Preparation.

Jarleen Haney Littrel (Charlie)

Charlie has taught at SDSU for 21 years teaching a variety of course including LS 300 and TE 200 for undergraduates. Her 35 years experience in Chula Vista Elementary School District, including a current third grade job share, make her the perfect instructor for Classroom Management. Charlie earned her BA, teaching credential and administrative credential all at SDSU!

Kathleen (Kathi) Holowach

Kathi has an MA in Special Education from San Diego State University. She taught in the public schools for over twelve years, during which time she served as a demonstration classroom teacher and trainer for the California State Department of Education. In her tenure with the California Training and Resource Group she authored several texts on effective instruction and classroom management. Her first appointment to the College of Education as a part-time faculty member was in 1977. She currently teaches several courses, as well as coordinates the Credential Program Council. Her interests outside of teaching include reading, traveling, camping, cooking, and spending time with her family. In addition, she is a self-proclaimed C-SPAN junkie.

Jim Dieckmann

Jim is the Library Media Teacher and Technology Coordinator at Clear View. He was a member of the initial faculty in 1991, and has taught 4th, 5th and 6th grade at Clear View. His present duties include maintaining the library collection, providing literature and information skills classes for students and planning with teachers. He provides direct technical support to students and teachers with hardware, software implementation and project-based learning. Jim Dieckmann has taught the EdTech 470 class to the Clear View Block for the past four years, and has presented expertise sessions on project based learning and storytelling techniques for the classroom teacher.
