Competition among protected species

In the still digital images of the Photo Gallery and in the Oyster Shells VR there is a horse grazing on the island. Can you find the horse in this panorama? What is he eating? Students are asked to combine the horse-path information with the next investigation to debate the path's maintenance as a vital tourist attraction. Students are then asked to draw a food web for the life on the island. How does the existence of horses on the island threaten other marine life? How do they affect erosion and maintenance of ecosystems as they eat protected sea oats that even people are not allowed to pick? What is the demand in human cost to keep them there? Students then debate the preservation and controlled populations and use the panoramas to support their cases. Are horses a protected species or menace?
