SDPCA members advocate for Peace Corps

On August 22, 2013, five SDPCA members met with a staff member at Congressman Duncan Hunter's office in El Cajon to advocate for the Peace Corps. Two of the RPCVs were born and raised in his district (and still live there) and so were able to present a very local voice.

They asked him to vote yes on the current PC budget (which has already been passed by the Senate) and brought up two other bills (one to allow RPCVs to put the Peace Corps logo on their gravestone and the other to establish a monument to Peace Corps in DC). Each member shared how the Peace Corps impacted her life and career choices.

The National Peace Corps Association provided a packet with talking points, statistics, graphs, etc to provide for the Congressman.
