Application
a) University Application Procedure
- Credential only: For the Level 1 or 2 with no MA) use the CSU application process. For the M A program, the Office of the Registrar is your first stop. If you are entering an M.A. program you will need to complete the CSU application process first This includes a CSU application, and forwarding transcripts and test scores.
b) Department of Special Education Application Procedure
- Complete the appropriate application for the Master's or your specialization: mild/moderate, moderate/severe, or early childhood.
- Submitting your completed application form with all the attachments on or before February 1 2010 (for Fall admission) ensures that your application will be in the first group reviewed by the faculty. Although our goal is to admit all well-qualified applicants, we give priority to those whose applications are completed before the deadline. Those who apply after the deadline will be considered if space is available.
- On your application you will be indicating whether you prefer the full-time or part-time program (Fall only). We recommend the full-time program, but understand that it is not possible for everyone. Both programs are designed to accommodate cohorts, and both follow a specific schedule. Although referred to as "part-time," that program requires approximately 11 units per term for 4 terms and you will be registered as a full-time student within the university. Both the full-time and part-time programs require experience (practica) with students receiving special education services in your credential area every term. If you elect the part-time program, you will take 5 additional units over the 2-year period to meet the practicum requirement. Spring is a three-semester program.
